First pressings, original label variants, classic rock, jazz, blues, northern soul, prog, punk, and complete LP collections. Every record sorted, graded, and valued individually — not bought at a flat rate per box.
Inherited record collections are commonly sold at car boot prices because nobody has checked for valuable pressings. A single rare first pressing can be worth more than the rest of the collection combined. Free insured postage. Written valuation. Paid in 72 hours.
Not all vinyl records are valuable — but the ones that are can be worth significant money. The difference between a common repress and a genuine first pressing can be hundreds of pounds. Understanding three things determines whether your collection contains hidden value: the pressing, the condition, and the genre.
First pressings are the original run from the initial stamper. They are identified by matrix numbers in the dead wax (the run-out groove near the label), specific label designs, and sometimes catalogue number variants. We check every record against pressing databases and identify exactly what you have.
Condition is graded using the Goldmine standard: Mint, Near Mint, Very Good Plus, Very Good, Good, and Fair. The difference between VG+ and NM on a desirable record can be 3–5 times in value. We grade both the vinyl and the sleeve.
Common LPs in poor condition, scratched records without sleeves, bulk lots of 1980s–2000s mainstream pop, and modern reissues have limited value. If you are unsure, email us photographs — we can usually advise from the spines whether a collection is worth sending.
Tell us roughly how many records and what genres. We send a free prepaid, tracked and insured label the same working day.
Stand records upright — never flat. Use cardboard stiffeners between groups. Fill gaps so nothing shifts. Remove records from outer sleeves to prevent seam splits. Insured to £5,000.

Key examples: original Parlophone Beatles, early Blue Note jazz (deep groove), Vertigo swirl label prog, Decca mono Rolling Stones, Factory Records post-punk. Condition is critical — a mint first pressing can be worth 10–50 times more than a worn copy.
Yes — but value varies enormously. A collection of 500 records might contain 20 genuinely valuable items. We sort and assess every record individually so you get fair prices for the valuable ones rather than a flat rate per box.
Check the matrix number in the dead wax (run-out groove near the label). First pressings have lower matrix numbers and specific stamper codes. The label design also indicates the pressing period. We identify all pressings as part of our valuation.
