Models we buy

Cartier produces one of the most diverse watch ranges in luxury horology. We buy every family — assessed individually by reference, metal, size, and generation.

Tank family

Tank Louis Cartier, Tank Américaine, Tank Cintrée, Tank Solo, Tank Must — among the most collected Cartier references. Gold examples, vintage pieces with original dials, and Tank Cintrée models attract specialist collector premiums. We assess the exact variant, metal, size, and condition of every Tank piece.

Santos family

One of the first purpose-designed wristwatches, and still a cornerstone of the Cartier range. The Santos Dumont, Santos de Cartier, Santos 100 — in steel, gold, and two-tone. Original 1970s and 1980s Santos pieces with original bracelets are actively collected. We assess Santos watches by generation and metal across all dial configurations.

Ballon Bleu de Cartier

Launched in 2007 and now one of Cartier's most recognised contemporary references. Available across multiple sizes and in steel, gold, and diamond-set variants. Large-size and gold examples hold value strongest. We assess Ballon Bleu by size, metal, dial, and whether diamond settings are present.

Panthère de Cartier

Originally launched in the 1980s and re-introduced in 2017, the Panthère is one of Cartier's most feminine references and holds particular value in gold. The integrated bracelet design means bracelet condition is a significant factor — stretched or damaged links affect offer price. Yellow gold examples attract the strongest demand.

Pasha de Cartier

A bold round sports watch with distinctive crown protector and, in later references, interchangeable straps. The Pasha is collected across its three decades of production. Early 1990s pieces in gold are particularly sought. We assess the specific generation, metal, movement, and dial including any diamond-set variants.

Vintage & discontinued Cartier

Pre-1990 Cartier pieces — Riviera, Vendôme, Cougar, Ronde, and the earliest Tank and Santos variants — are collected by horological specialists. Originality matters more here than in the modern market: unpolished cases, original dials, and correct crown styles are assessed and noted. We do not undervalue vintage Cartier.

Why the metal on your Cartier watch matters so much

Cartier is unusual in the luxury watch market in that a significant proportion of their watches were — and still are — sold in 18ct gold. This gold heritage means the metal premium on Cartier pieces is more meaningful than on most other brands where gold models are a small fraction of production.

A yellow gold Tank Louis Cartier is worth substantially more than a steel equivalent — not just because of the intrinsic metal value (which at typical case sizes is a few hundred pounds) but because gold Cartier pieces are rarer, historically more prestigious within the brand's own hierarchy, and attract a specific collector premium. We assess metal accurately using every available hallmark and apply the correct premium.

Two-tone pieces — gold bezel and lugs with a steel case, or the reverse — sit between the all-steel and all-gold valuations and are assessed accordingly. White gold, rose gold, and platinum pieces each have their own demand profile and we assess all accordingly.

What Cartier references hold value best?

The Santos and Tank families consistently hold value. Vintage Tank models — particularly Tank Louis Cartier, Tank Américaine, and Tank Cintrée — attract strong collector demand. Gold-cased examples carry a significant premium. The Panthère in gold and Ballon Bleu in larger sizes hold well. We track all references individually.

Does the metal matter when selling a Cartier?

Significantly. A yellow or rose gold Cartier is worth considerably more than an equivalent steel reference — for both the metal content and the collector premium gold Cartier commands. Two-tone models sit between. Platinum examples are rarer and assessed accordingly. We verify metal accurately using every available hallmark.

My Cartier is vintage — how does that affect value?

Vintage Cartier from the 1960s–1980s is actively collected. Originality matters more than serviced condition — an unrestored watch with an original dial in honest condition is preferred over a polished example with a replacement bracelet. We assess vintage Cartier with this in mind.

Do I need the original Cartier box and papers?

A complete set — red Cartier box, outer box, warranty card, booklets — increases the offer, sometimes substantially. For vintage pieces, original period boxes add provenance. We also buy without boxes; the watch itself drives most of the offer.

Does my Cartier need to be serviced first?

No. We buy in any condition — running or stopped. A non-running watch is assessed on the assumption of service required, factored into the offer. Do not service before selling: the cost is rarely recovered, and wrong service can reduce value on vintage pieces.

How quickly will I be paid?

Within 72 hours of your parcel going live on YouTube — guaranteed. If we miss that window, we add 3% to your total, written into the agreement before you send anything.
